Handouts for the ETC Technology Classes & Brown Bag Lunch Series

1. Click on "File", then "Open"
2. Notice the image is so large it goes off the screen!
3. Click on "Image" and then "Resize/Resample
3. Now we know why the image was so large. The sizeis 2 thousand and 48 pixels wide. Most computer screens are 800 to 1024 pixels wide.
4. I changed the size to 250 pixels so I could use it as a thumbnail on the web . If you are doing a powerpoint, 500 to 800 pixels are the most you need.
5. The resized image. Now we can see the whole thing and the file size is WAY reduced.
6. We don't want to overwrite the original so we click on "Save As"! Very Important.
7. I've saved the file with a more descriptive name than its original of PS0087.jpg.
