Blackboard is a course management system that allows that facilitate student participation, communication, and collaboration . Blackboard is easy to use and can incorporate course materials in a variety of formats: PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, video/audio clips as well as html documents. In additional to posting course materials, faculty and students can interact using e-mail and discussion boards. Students can take online quizzes; check their grades with an online gradebook; and work together in groups. To access Blackboard, point your web browser to: blackboard.agnesscott.edu

Blackboard courses are created automatically at the beginning of each semester. There is usually one basic Blackboard course at the beginning of the fall semester. Faculty new to the Blackboard system should contact the Blackboard administrator via e-mail at cburgamy@agnesscott.edu to schedule an orientation session.

Please note: Blackboard courses are best viewed using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher with Java and Javascript enabled. How do you know if Java is enabled? It probably is. But you can check by opening Internet Explorer and clicking on "Tools" at the top of your browser, then click "Internet Options", "Advanced" tab. Scroll about half way down and make sure Java Sun is checked then restart your computer.
