ETC Workshop Schedule for Fall 2011


Moodle for Instructors @ your office beginnng Aug 3rd -16th.
We will be scheduling appointments to meet with individual faculty from 1pm to 3pm.
We will cover the basics of how to create a course on Moodle and other basic features
such as uploading files, password protection, enrolling students and creating assignments.

iPads in Higher Education?


First session is from 1-2 p.m.
An overview of the product and it's relevance in education. We'll take a look at some applications used for both teaching and learning. If time permits, we'll show you how to create a multimedia ePub formatted book used for an ereader. The target audience is those exploring tablets in education and those questioning it's relevance.

Second session 2-3 p.m.

Tips and Tricks on iPad 2: Begins by comparing the initial iPad to the iPad 2 and focusing on the educational relevant features. The workshop is designed to show ways to more efficiently use the device and is designed to be sharing and interactive. The target audience is new (or planning on being new) iPad users.

Eportfolios/blogs with Wordpress and Tumblr & Photoshop TBA
Building your Eportfolio with easy to use online blogs such as, Wordpress and Tumblr
You will learn basic skills in creating a blog, uploading text and images and how to access the
blog from any computer with an internet connection.

 
Final Cut Express TBA
Learn how to use this movie making software.
Students, faculty and staff can familiarize themselves with the basics of
movie post production. Users will
leave this class knowing how to capture digital movie footage, how to
edit movie clips, insert text and special effects. Class limited to 8.

Mac Users Roundtable

Do you have questions about your Mac and how to use it effectively
on campus? Bring your Mac and we will share information and ideas.

Getting the most out of your computer from off campus. TBA
Effective use of your computer while off campus can make on
campus life easier. We can show you how best to use your browser to access
resources and which resources are and are not available from off campus.
