Moodle for Instructors @ your office beginnng January 9th
We will be scheduling appointments to meet with individual faculty from 1pm to 3pm.
We will cover the basics of how to create a course on Moodle and other basic features
such as uploading files, password protection, enrolling students and creating assignments.

Students, faculty and staff can familiarize themselves with the basics of
movie post production. Users will
leave this class knowing how to capture digital movie footage, how to
edit movie clips, insert text and special effects. Class limited to 8.

on campus? Bring your Mac and we will share information and ideas.

Getting the most out of your computer from off campus. TBA
Effective use of your computer while off campus can make on
campus life easier. We can show you how best to use your browser to access
resources and which resources are and are not available from off campus.

Writing Across Borders -
Friday, Jan. 25, 3:30-5:00pm, in the CTL (101A Buttrick)
In the twenty-five minute film, Writing Across Borders, students from a broad array of countries and cultures talk about adapting
to writing assignments, requirements, rhetorical styles, and teachers’ expectations in US colleges and universities, and instructors
offer advice on helping international students make these adaptations to do their best work. A screening of the film will be followed
by a panel discussion with Christine Cozzens, director of the Center for Writing and Speaking, Jennifer Lund, director of the Office of
International Education, and several international students.

The Technology, Education, and Copyright Harmonization Act (TEACH Act) is now law. TEACH updates copyright law pertaining to transmissions of performances and displays of copyrighted materials. Such transmissions are critical to current higher education distance education efforts, including online courses.
