Instructions on Archiving your Blackboard Course

Video tutorial--Archiving your Blackboard course
1.In Blackboard go to your Control Panel
2. In Course Options area, click on Archive Course
3. You will be taken to a page named Export/Archive Manager. click on the Archive icon/link just below the Export/Archive Manager.
4. The next page will list the name of the course. If that is correct click on the submit button at the right and bottom of the screen. You will get this message: "This action has been successfully queued. An email will be sent when the process is complete." Click OK and check your email for a message to you saying the archive has been created.
5. Go back to the Control Panel, Course Options, Archive Course. You will see a file ending in .zip. Right click on that file and save it to your computer.

bFree is a free java based software from the University of North Carolina for converting an Blackboard Archive Zip folder to files that are duplicates of the original files and folders or extract the course as a web page .
bFree works on Windows XP and Mac OSX. Vista is not currently supported.

The Technology, Education, and Copyright Harmonization Act (TEACH Act) is now law. TEACH updates copyright law pertaining to transmissions of performances and displays of copyrighted materials. Such transmissions are critical to current higher education distance education efforts, including online courses. |
